Through conversations with God and the support of her Shepherd, Pastor Darrell L. Armstrong, Tamara Davis- Gaskins began the Rhema Spoken Word ministry at the historical Shiloh Baptist Church located in Trenton, NJ. Along with her husband Tyrone A. Gaskins, they prepare "gospel moments "for the congregation each third Sunday and provide spoken word workshops for congregational and community members throughout the year.

The goal of the Rhema Spoken Word Ministry is to bring the word and the works of God to the congregation and God’s people as a collective. Using poetry and prose the Word is articulated through moralistic poetry and parables. The ministry is founded on the scripture John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” With pride they bring forth the Word of God, and every piece written and performed promotes and fosters an environment for spiritual healing and renewal.
